OLIVE OIL + SUGAR SCRUB
This has to be the easiest recipe yet. It will leave your hands feeling soft in less than a minute. The pure olive oil may be got from a pharmacy or a supermarket. Culinary olive oil is commended as well as B.P olive oil
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. of olive oil
The olive oils moisturizes and hydrates while the sugar exfoliates the dead skin.
Direction: place the sugar in one palm and pour some olive oil with the other. Rub gently for 30 seconds and wash with luke warm water for 30 second, pat dry and feel the softness.
LEMON + HONEY + BAKING SODA
If your hands appear darker, rougher and aged brighten and make them softer with this recipe.
- 2 tbsp. Lemon or half a lemons juice
- 2 tbsp. Honey
- 2 tbsp. baking soda.
The lemon gently lightens dark spots among other discolorations, while the honey is rich with anti-aging properties and finally the baking soda removes dead skin.
Direction: wash hands with soap. Mix ingredients in bowl. Apply and rub gently to hands for 1 minute. Allow the mixture to sit on the hands for 10-15 minutes.
Rinse hands with warm water, note do not use soap immediately after. Repeat this treatment 2 to 3 times a week
Tips to remember
While doing chores, ensure to always have gloves one, detergents, and liquid soaps often have harsh chemicals, that will leave your skin feeling dry, rough and looking older than it is.
Show some love at night
Half the time we are awake, our hands are engaged in one activity or the other, however at bedtime there is a good 6-8 hours for your hands to rejuvenate. Invest in a good hand cream and apply this before bed.
Water temperature matters a lot.
If it’s too hot water: Am sure many of us have heard the myth that hot water can damage your skin, well it is no myth, hot water opens the pores to wide and leaves skin vulnerable to cracking and wrinkling. So use it in moderation.
Is it too cold: On the other extreme, really cold water breaks small capillaries under the skin, causes dryness and premature aging.
Take a break from nail polishing.
Nail polish while it appears fancy, and the color has a certain rush it give you, remember like anything, your nails need a break. So when you remove your nail polish, give your nail s about four days to a week, before repainting. You’ll notice your nails are less brittle and your hands more beautiful.
